How to get your Global25 coordinates
A G25 analysis starts from 25 numbers that place you on the genetic map of the world. Here is what they are, where they come from, which line to paste — and how we can get them for you.
What Global25 coordinates are
Global25 (G25) is a set of 25 principal components computed from the genomes of thousands of ancient and modern people. Your coordinates are your own genome projected onto those same 25 axes: one line of text, a label followed by 25 numbers. Because everybody is measured on the same axes, your line can be compared with any population or ancient individual that has one — that is what a G25 analysis does.
Where they come from
Coordinates are not something you can compute at home, and Pikolo does not compute them either. They are produced from a raw DNA file — the export every consumer DNA test offers (23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA) — by an independent Global25 coordinate provider. You have two ways to get yours:
- Order them yourself from a Global25 coordinate provider, then paste the result into your Pikolo order.
- Let us obtain them for you. Choose “I only have a raw DNA file” when you order: for a surcharge we pass your file to the coordinate provider on your behalf, by hand, and run your analysis the moment the coordinates arrive. Which line to paste
A coordinates file has two blocks, Scaled and Raw, each with one line for you:

Paste the Scaled line — label included, exactly as you received it. Scaled coordinates weight each axis by how much of human variation it explains, which is what distances and admixture models are built on. The Raw line is the same position without that weighting; Pikolo does not use it.

Then what?
With your coordinates, a G25 analysis shows the ancient and modern populations you are closest to in every era, your ancestry as a mix of ancient peoples with margins of error, where you fall on the PCA plot of each era, and the notable ancient individuals you are closest to.
